"I'm ok with just a quickie!"
Due to some personal time constraints here, we’re going change up the format and just whip right through this…
Week 13 Studs
Titans Chris Johnson and LenDale White did exactly what we thought they were going to do combining for 131 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns against the hapless Lions.
Dallas’ Tony Romo lit up the scoreboard again for 331 passing yards and 3 TDs. Terrell Owens (98 yards) and Jason Witten (105 yards) both scored and were the prime targets for Romo all day.
Seattle’s John Carlson continues to impress, grabbing 105 total receiving yards this past week.
Donovan McNabb finally woke up and threw for 260 yards, 4 TDs and no INTs. His biggest beneficiary was RB Brian Westbrook who caught 2 TDs for a total of 20 yards and amassed 105 yards on the ground with another 2 TDs.
In a losing effort, Kurt Warner still threw for 235 yards and 3 TDs but his 3 INTs put a damper on things. His favorite target this week was Larry Fitzgerald with 65 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Amani Toomer re-emerges to grab 85 yards and a TD while the returning Brandon Jacobs rumbles for 71 yards and a score.
Drew Brees may not be able to lead the Saints to consistent victories, but his fantasy numbers were still solid as he threw for 296 yards and a pair of scores. But like Warner, the 3 INTs are a detriment.
Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams continues to roll with his 4 TDs on 72 rushing yards. Nice to see Steve Smith top the century mark in the air again too.
Just going through, but it looks like Aaron Rodgers is the third QB this week to throw for 3 TDs and still lose. His 298 yards were nice too and he only tossed one pick. Greg Jennings (91 yards, 1 TD) and Donald Driver (83 yards, 1 TD) make it so easy for him sometimes.
Yet another great day from Joey Flacco (280 passing yards, 2 TD), Mark Clayton (164 receiving yards, 1 TD) and Derrick Mason (91 receiving yards, 1 TD). My head is still spinning.
Another big week for Marshawn Lynch who ran for 134 yards. Too bad he couldn’t get into the endzone.
The Falcons offense continues to roll led by Matt Ryan (202 passing yards, 2 TDs), Michael Turner (120 rushing yards) and Roddy White (112 receiving yards). Next week against the Saints should equal more fun.
Not that I would ever trust them in my lineup, but Larry Johnson (92 yards with a TD) and Tony Gonzalez (110 receiving yards) were solid contributors this week.
Just a nod to the Pittsburgh offense as a whole this week. Very balanced in the dismantling of the New England defense.
It kills me to put Jay Cutler and Peyton Hillis in here, but the two of them just killed my Jets this week.
On the other side for Gang Green, Thomas Jones with 138 yards and 2 TDs gives him 3 consecutive 100+ rushing games. The Niners are next…
Matt Forte’s 125 all purpose yards with a TD were a great surprise against a tough Vikings D but in the end, the heroes of the game were Adrian Peterson (131 rushing yards with a score) and Bernard Berrian (122 receiving yards, 1 TD).
Steve Slaton just peed on the your “rookie wall”
Week 13 Duds
Lions Kevin Smith (22 rushing yards) and Calvin Johnson (66 receiving yards) failed to find the endzone. It was the first time both players were held scoreless in a game since September 21st.
Cowboys RB Marion Barber found the endzone, but had minimal yardage this week; only 32 on the ground. Keep an eye on him as he sat out practice Monday and faces a tough Steelers’ D next week.
Anquan Boldin failed to score a TD again and has only 1 in his last 3 games. He picked up only 63 yards this past week. 7 yards on 7 carries for Tim Hightower? Eeww!!
Plaxico Burress shoots himself in the leg; Shoots fantasy owners in heart.
Troubles for Clinton Portis owners as the former rushing leader only gains 22 yards on 11 carries.
Reggie Bush’s 32 receiving yards were a disappointment, but his zero yards on 3 carries was even worse.
Does St. Louis even use Donnie Avery anymore??
166 yards and no TDs for Chad Pennington against the Rams was a major disappointment, but still not nearly as atrocious as Peyton Manning throwing 2 picks, no TDs and only 125 yards against the Browns.
Joseph Addai regains the bust tag with his meager 57 rushing yards.
Pick a Brown, any Brown.
Or…pick a Bengal, any Bengal.
Another crappy week for Frank Gore (66 rushing yards with no TDs) and it doesn’t get any better when the eager to rebound Jets come to town.
Trent Edwards follows up a career game with 112 passing yards, a groin injury and an early exit. Monitor his status during the week.
Dude, the Chargers are just gross. 149 passing yards for Phillip Rivers and zero catches for Vincent Jackson? 4-8 seems about right.
The Tyler Thigpen buzz just got a little quieter.
Maybe the Matt Cassel buzz should too. Ok, so it was the Steelers in bad weather. 169 passing yards with 2 INTs and no TDs is still bad enough to make this list.
And lastly…that’s back to back disappointments from Maurice Jones-Drew, who in fact hasn’t been that studly this year anyway. Next week against the Bears doesn’t give me any hope.
